OUR DESIGNS
Single level, two storey, with or without wheels, mobile or on foundations? How many bedrooms and other rooms? What are your expectations from Tiny Home living? We offer standard designs that you can customize to suit your needs and the looks you want to achieve. All our homes fall within the government’s proposed “Granny Flat” guidelines for 2025, not requiring building or resource consent (conditions apply).
We specialize in designing houses for the South Island, New Zealand. This is reflected in our choice of materials for insulation values, snow, wind, and earthquake loadings, durability in our climatic conditions, sun and sea spray exposure, transportability on our roads etc. We meet the New Zealand Building Code and employ qualified tradespeople.
Together, we can create something special.
Small Road legal
Just because they’re small, it doesn’t mean they’re not amazing! With very clever use of every little space, and eye-catching features throughout, they offer fun and cozy living spaces that can go almost anywhere. They are no wider than a road-legal trailer and are the easiest tiny homes to tow on the road.
We also make PODs that attach to an existing home or can be used as a free-standing cabin. They match the style and materials of the house they are attached to.

Large Road Legal
Back to the roots. Remember how it started with small, clever homes that don’t break the bank and are truly mobile? A road legal trailer with a real house on it. Not a cabin or caravan. They can come without wheels if you want but are designed to be towed on New Zealand roads. At under 3.1m wide and no heavier than 3.5t they don’t need a pilot vehicle and can be towed by a ute.

Transportable Homes
These are the Not So Tiny Homes. Large enough to suit families, downsizers, professionals with a home office. Up to three bedrooms. Shown here is the TYLER. It meets the proposed “Granny Flat” rules for not requiring building or resource consent from 2025.
They are easily transportable on a truck but can’t be towed on New Zealand roads. Best if you don’t intend to stay mobile but want the benefits of a house that is easily shifted and mostly cheaper to build than on site. The model shown is about as large as you can go without a special house moving permit. We can build larger.
