The concept of the Pakituhi is simple: a high-end cabin that feels more like a studio apartment. Perfect as a comfortable sleepout, rental, or commercial short-term stay.
It is designed to come on a road legal trailer and can be towed behind a vehicle with a 3.5t towing capacity (most NZ utes).
A queen size bedroom with a good wardrobe, a comfortable living room with space for a generous kitchenette, large windows to take in the views and bring light inside. Various heating and hot water options. A smaller wardrobe/kitchenette option gives even more living space.
It is built from the same durable and beautiful building materials that a normal house is built from. It can come with a CCC (Code Compliance Certificate) to enable a building consent, but meets the guidelines for the government’s proposal to remove building and resource consents from buildings below 60m2 from mid 2025.

High end finishes
The varnished plywood standard finish gives a cosy feel. Painted and/or grooved walls can lend a touch of charm. Flooring options include timber, cork, ceramic tiles, vinyl planks or carpet. Heating can be electric, gas, heat pump, or wood fire.

Essentially the same layout as the smaller 6.8 model, this one allows for a split king bed that can convert into a twin. It is perfect for commercial short-term stays or if you want the versatility to have guests in a variety of bedding configurations.

More Bed for your buck
A king size bed that can be split into two singles is often found in hotel rooms. It caters for singles, couples, and room mates.
SPECIFICATIONS
TRAILER - built on a double axle road legal trailer with brakes, lights and leaf springs, rated to 3.6t (3.5 is the road legal weight limit)
MEASUREMENTS - overall 3.1m wide and 3.6m high, can be towed without pilotage. Comes in three lengths: 6.8, 7.2, 7.8
BEDROOMS - one generous size bedroom with wardrobe. The 7.2m size can be configured for a split king bed.
KITCHENETTE - the fully functional kitchenette includes a range hood, two burner hotplate, sink, hot water, room for a microwave/bench oven, and a good amount of work space with a breakfast bar.
BATHROOM - the 7.8m version includes a bathroom with full 900mm x 900mm shower, vainty and toilet (flushing, composting or incinerating)
